We learned early this morning that Robbie has been let go by his company.  We have known this was a possibility for a few days, but only told close friends.  It has nothing to do with the accident, but is due to changes within the company. There may be other possibilities for him, but we don’t know at this point. Please pray for us – I hate to ask for so much prayer for us, but these days we are in much need of it.  We’ll update when we know more.  Just ask God for wisdom, grace, peace, and provision.  God is bigger than a job and we still trust Him.  Thank you.

P.S.  Elisabeth Elliott’s devotional was especially meaningful to me today, as well as this morning’s reading from “Daily Light.”   If you click on the links to the right you can read them.

  1. I’m so sorry, guys. My heart sank a little when I read the first sentence of this post.

    It’s hard to understand what God is up to sometimes in the midst of frustrating, confusing, and scary circumstances. However, I know His heart towards us is good and He wants our trust. I’ll be praying for your ability to trust and rest in His peace.

    Oh, and congrats on the good physical progress you’re making Robbie. Stay strong!

  2. Oh Stacey,
    I am so sorry. These are such difficult and uncertain times for so many families. I saw that Robbie’s company may be doing more lay-offs and I had hoped it wouldn’t include him.
    You all continue to be in my prayers.

  3. Have you heard the Matt Redman song “Blessed Be Your Name”? The lyrics always touch me, especially lately as we are all experiencing a financial crunch in some form or another. It says:

    Blessed Be Your Name
    In the land that is plentiful
    Where Your streams of abundance flow
    Blessed be Your name

    Blessed Be Your name
    When I’m found in the desert place
    Though I walk through the wilderness
    Blessed Be Your name

    Every blessing You pour out
    I’ll turn back to praise
    When the darkness closes in, Lord
    Still I will say

    Blessed be the name of the Lord
    Blessed be Your name
    Blessed be the name of the Lord
    Blessed be Your glorious name

    Blessed be Your name
    When the sun’s shining down on me
    When the world’s ‘all as it should be’
    Blessed be Your name

    Blessed be Your name
    On the road marked with suffering
    Though there’s pain in the offering
    Blessed be Your name

    Every blessing You pour out
    I’ll turn back to praise
    When the darkness closes in, Lord
    Still I will say

    Blessed be the name of the Lord
    Blessed be Your name
    Blessed be the name of the Lord
    Blessed be Your glorious name

    We aren’t guaranteed an easy, stress-free life on this earth, but we are guaranteed an eternal life free from pain of any kind. Hang in there, and keep trusting in the Lord.

    You’re all continually in my prayers. 🙂

  4. Stacey & Robbie,
    I gasped when I read the first line of your blog. I can only imagine how you guys felt. Just know that we will be standing in prayer for your every need! God is more than enough! If it is any consolation…we are going through one of the hardest times financially that we have ever faced. Though I don’t fully understand God’s plan…I am certain that He is Jehovah Jireh!!! Our Provider!! He will never leave us or forsake us. We learn in these times to absolutely rely and trust in His Almighty Hand as never before and He will not disappoint us!! We love and pray God’s richest blessings upon your household!

  5. Stacey & Robbie,
    I gasped when I read the first line of your blog! Please know that we will be believing for you to receive every good and perfect gift from our Great God!! He is Jehovah Jireh our Provider!!
    We don’t understand when things like this happen but we know that the God we serve has a purpose and a plan! Many are facing difficult situations financially…BUT GOD!! He will never leave us or forsake us and His gracious hand of mercy and grace are extended to us daily!!

  6. You have shown so much faithfulness in the Lord through Robbie’s accident. Your faithfulness is an encouragement to our family and to many people (some that you will not even know in this life).

    Psalm 36:5-9
    5 Your mercy, O LORD, is in the heavens;
    Your faithfulness reaches to the clouds.
    6 Your righteousness is like the great mountains;
    Your judgments are a great deep;
    O LORD, You preserve man and beast.
    7 How precious is Your lovingkindness, O God!
    Therefore the children of men put their trust under the shadow of Your wings.
    8 They are abundantly satisfied with the fullness of Your house,
    And You give them drink from the river of Your pleasures.
    9 For with You is the fountain of life;
    In Your light we see light.

    Be assured that God has great plans for your family. We will pray that He will sustain you and make His will known.

    We love you all~

  7. Stacey & Robbie,

    We are praying for you both. I know that there are some possibilities for Robbie (& Gray) when they post all of the changes (coming from Marty’s boss). We have been there and know how very scarey it is. When we weren’t sure if Marty’s Job was one that could be eliminated we just comforted ourselves by knowing that Christ is still on the Throne…He is still King…and He will provide for us. I know that He will provide for YOU! We think so highly of you both and are amazed at how positive you have been through all of these challenges. What an awesome family you are!

  8. Another job will come . Robbie is a great man and any company would be lucky to have him !!! Only one catch and that is that he call on Cardiology Associates physicians ( tell him I don’t care if he is selling birth control pills we’ll see if we can get some ordered !! Ha!Ha! ) Seriously God will provide . Love to all , Judy

  9. Stacey and Robbie,

    I was sorry to hear that Robbie had lost his job. I will be praying for you guys. I know that the Lord is able and willing to provide for you all. He has given Steve and Abigail and me many miracles in our lives. He is the same today as He was yesterday.

    God bless you all.

  10. “Then the Lord said to Satan, ‘Have you considered my servant Job? There is no one on earth like him; he is blameless and upright, a man who fears God and shuns evil. And he still maintains his integrity, though you incited me against him to ruin him without any reason'” Job 2:3

    Please know that we are praying still.

  11. Guys,

    We just want to check up on you…Stacey, it was good to see you and Betsy on Sunday.

    Sorry about Robbie’s job loss. That must mean that God has something EXTRA special in store for you guys! He will never leave you or forsake you.

    I know it must be difficult to not be able to do the things you normally do throughout life. It must be tough having to wait on the Lord. Just remember it is all temporary and you will get through this. Just wanted to let you know that we are thinking and praying for you!

    Call if you need anything!
    Mike and Kristen
