We are doing some at-home tailgating today while watching college football.  Thanks to our friend, Joe Hafner, for the delicious barbecue!  Today is homecoming at our alma mater ASU, so we’ll be tuning in on the radio.

Robbie is doing well today just resting and watching football.  I changed the dressing on his wound this morning, and it is healing nicely.  It will be a few weeks before it is completely healed, but compared to what he started with, the results are wonderful.

Now we are just going from day to day limiting Rob’s mobility until he is allowed to put weight on the right side of his body.  We visit the orthopedic doctor on Sept. 30th to see how everything is healing.  We continue to receive wonderful meals and so much encouragement from everyone’s prayers.

I haven’t been blogging everyday lately since we haven’t had major developments like we did at first.  It is really humbling and touching to know that so many people still check on us everyday.  Forgive me if I sometimes put songs or other stuff on here – it is usually what is impacting me that day or at that moment.

I don’t know if I had mentioned it before or not, but we were concerned and praying about a delay that occurred in getting Rob’s short-term disability approved and started.  We got word late this week that it had, in fact, been approved and will start in a few days – just in time for his regular pay day.  We are so appreciative to Robbie’s manager, Derek, who has gone to bat for us over and over in order to make sure that we are taken care of.  We are forever grateful for all he has done.  Others in his company have also extended such kindness and help to us.

Well, I guess I’ll finish watching Tennessee get whipped by our fellow homeschooler, Tim Tebow and his Gators.  Sorry, Steve 🙂

  4. Greetings Johnson family… So grateful for continued progress in Robbie’s healing also that your son’s accident wasn’t serious.

  5. Just think of the memories you’ll have next fall as your whole family is tailgating AT ASU instead of at your home! You will be able to look back and clearly see this journey God has taken you through. You may not understand all the reasons yet (that is something I still go through) but at least a year from now you will be able to look back and see all the improvements!
