Doppelganger

The term “doppelganger” is used to describe someone who looks just like someone else.  They say that theoretically everyone has a doppelganger.  Robbie’s doppelganger is Joe Hafner – someone he graduated from high school with.  He says that teachers would always get them confused because they favored so much.  Joe paid Robbie a visit today and [...]

Casting Ourselves on Him

Robbie had a sleepless night last night.  His pain is significant these days and he is trying to work through it with medicine and rest.  Right now the kids and I are trying to let him get some sleep so that when he wakes up we can have chocolate chip pancakes for breakfast.  We are [...]

Settling In…

We are settling in to being at home.  Robbie had 2 doctor visits yesterday, which were tiring, but so great to see the doctors and nurses that have extended so much love to our family.  With a couple of wound changes, the doctors and nurses have commented on how good it looks.  Please continue to pray [...]

Robbie came home today!  We got back into town late this afternoon.  The kids were ecstatic to see Dad and had prepared pictures for him and balloons along the wheelchair ramp in the carport.  The Fields family had a great banner on the door, too (I’ll get a picture tomorrow in the daylight). Robbie is [...]

Robbie heads back into the o.r. tomorrow (Tuesday) for more wound cleanout.  Here are the scenarios that the doctor gave Robbie this evening:

The wound looks beautiful and they decide to go ahead and close it, sending him home in a couple of days.
Clean out the wound and do bedside dressing changes, then go back into [...]

We have had a good weekend. Rob’s parents brought the kids for a visit and we had a wonderful time together (I have pictures, but I’m unable to post them from the hospital network – long story).  We visited with our dear friends Michael & Lori, and got a surprise visit from North Carolina – [...]

Kiddos Coming

We are anxiously awaiting a visit from the kids today.  Rob has had a bath, and feels ready to see them.  He has missed them so much!  Rob’s surgeon came in this morning and told us that it is still up in the air whether they will do another o.r. cleanout or not.  If they [...]
